Natalie Portman, celeb vegetarian extraordinaire, has been known to sport cruelty-free kicks, so you’ll be in good company if you decide to make the leap as well. One site worth checking out is Vegetarian Shoes and Bags, which just started carrying eco brands like Earth, Ecolution, CL Laundry, Madden Girl, Punk Rose, and Simple. We perused the site a bit, and liked the Gladiator Vegan Sandals ($29.99!). Though you won’t see any overt eco-claims in the product description, these sling backs are cruelty free and 100% vegan. The metallic silver finish, gold studs, and one inch wedge heel make them work-able for a night on the town or for daywear. For more casual situations, we liked the World Peace Flip Flop ($24.99), which comes in white or black. The metal peace sign attached to the upper strap isn’t too subtle, but if you like to shout it out loud, these are for you.

Kind-hearted Kicks

Off the Cuff

Botanical Fanatical

In the summer of 2002, a man by the name of Francesco Clark suffered a serious spinal cord injury after a tragic pool diving accident. Not only did he lose the ability to walk and feel, but also his ability to perspire. Unable to sweat, a slew of skin issues (i.e. chronic breakouts) followed…but fortunately, so did the brilliantly natural skincare line Clark created specially to combat his clogged pores. Totally paraben-free and made with amazing essential oils such as Jasmine Absolute, all eight of the Clark’s Botanicals products deliver some seriously amazing results using solely botanical-based products. And we’re totally swooning over the no-fuss face wash in particular. A delightfully creamy cleanser made with a special non-foaming formula that you can remove using a soft towel rather than the usual rinse-it-off with water routine. It's so simple and soothing, you'll wonder how your skin ever lived without it.
Impressive Specs

Recycling may be expected, but that doesn't mean the results can't be exceptional. CustomEyes by Nadar Zadi crafts contemporary frames from a collection of antique eyewear in white and yellow gold, spanning 200 years. Zadi rejects contemporary mass eyeglass manufacturing methods. His showroom is based in Manhattan's Upper East Side, and is helmed by Zadi, himself, who employs old-world techniques to turn out custom-made specs on par with a piece of jewelry, fitted to your personal tastes. With frames so smart-looking, you'll swear you missed your calling in nuclear fusion.
