Arrrrgh! What is the allure of these cars that keeps them front and center in ALL of the media -- PlentyMag and other "ecoconscious" publications included? They simply *aren't going to happen* -- not in any significant (mass-produced, affordable, near-term, energy-efficient or easily-refillable way). Do your homework, read Joseph Romm's The Hype about Hydrogen, learn about the five miracles that need to occur (including complete stagnation of competing technologies), and then report back...

Meanwhile, I'll be looking forward to buying my first battery electric or PHEV in the next year or two!
